Toys for Tots is an incredible program that accepts donations of toys and distributes them around the holidays to less fortunate families and children. Andrew Muc is an active fundraiser for the Toys for Tots program in Pennsylvania. Volunteers like Andrew Muc help to collect toys and donations at various locations around their communities. Andrew Muc was very pleased with the program’s success in 2012 – thousands of toys were collected and distributed to many families. He claims that it has been the most successful year he has seen with his Toys for Tots program.
“In the holiday season, it’s important to consider the less fortunate families in your community,” says Andrew Muc. Donating or volunteering your time can make a huge difference for so many families. “It’s a great way to help spread the holiday spirit,” says Andrew Muc. The best part of working with Toys for Tots is delivering the toys you have collected to families in need, according to Muc. The joy you are helping to share is the best reward you can get. Andrew Muc believes that it is very important for people to get involved and support there communities. There are many ways that you can help strengthen your community. There are lots of community programs and events that need the support of volunteers. The Toys for Tots program began in 1947 by a group of Marine Reservists in the Los Angeles Area. The program has expanded all across America, and in 2012 collected millions of dollars in toys and donations to share during the holiday season. Andrew Muc is pleased to see how much the Toys for Tots program has grown in his community, and he looks forward to even greater success in years to come. Andrew Muc enjoys many opportunities to volunteer and contribute to his local community, and is proud to offer his time to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa. The shrine, where Andrew Muc volunteers regularly as an usher, is located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania and was established in 1955 as a religious and community hub for Polish Americans in the United States. The shrine was originally built on a 40-acre rural property in Doylestown that features a church, a barn chapel, a cemetery and rosary garden, and of course the shrine itself. "The shrine is an important place for Polish-Americans," according to Andrew Muc. "It provides Polish-Americans with a chance to remember and experience their rich cultural heritage." Andrew Much loves being a part of this community, and is glad he can help by volunteering his time. He looks forward to the annual Polish-American Family Festival & Country fair, which the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa puts on each September. The festival features Polish arts and crafts, demonstrations, and of course delicious Polish food and drink. The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa recently added the Ave Maria Retreat house, which makes it possible for pilgrims to rest and recuperate at the shrine. The facility can accommodate up to 80 overnight guests. Andrew Muc was happy to see the shrine offer this new addition; it can give Polish-Americans from greater distances the chance to visit and experience this important institution for their cultural heritage. Andre Muc is proud to be a part of this community, and hopes to continue his volunteer work with the shrine. Andrew Muc always enjoys spending time at the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, whether attending services and events or experiencing and admiring to gardens and the Shrine's beautiful surroundings. |
